Pritchards – Bath Property Newsletter August 2018

23/08/2018
Welcome to our August newsletter! The official last day of summer may be just around the corner, but not before we bring you another superb offering of some of the most desirable properties currently on the market in and around Bath. From a stunning Georgian townhouse on Bloomfield Crescent in the heart of the city, to a beautiful country hideaway in Lacock, see what catches your eye from this month's inspirational selection below.

On the foodie front, we've spent some time road-testing a few of our favourite out-of-town watering holes (all in the name of research, you understand) to bring you our ultimate top six country pubs near Bath. Sunday lunch with all the trimmings or a glass of wine in a sunny beer garden, we think we've covered every base. Any favourites we’ve missed off our list? Share them with us on Facebook or Twitter – just click on the links below!

Elsewhere in this month's issue, we turn our attention to the outdoors with a look at some of the best patio heaters on the market; we also reveal AirBnB's most sought-after properties (we're thinking next year's summer holiday already) and even have some creative ideas for helping your son or daughter jazz up their uni digs next month.

Last but by no means least, we offer some great advice for buy-to-let landlords on how to get the best out of their relationship with their tenants. Are you a landlord who could benefit from our expert insight? If so, we would love to hear from you! Give us a call on 01225 618860 or email us at lettings@pritchards-bath.co.uk.

Pritchards – Bath Property Newsletter June 2018

21/06/2018
It's mid-June already, and with it comes another bumper edition of our monthly newsletter, packed full of beautiful houses and apartments for sale and to let in and around Bath. City-slick apartment or chocolate-box cottage in the countryside: whatever your dream home, let us tempt you with this month's bountiful crop of fantastic new homes currently on the market. If you're keen to stay abreast of the local housing scene, then make sure you join our social media community on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook for all the latest properties, local events, food, interior design inspiration and so much more. See the links at the end of this newsletter.

Planning a summer get-together with friends and family over the next month or two? As well as stocking up on the Pimm's, you'll want to make sure that your garden is looking its very best. Our blog piece this month has no less than five fabulous tips to help you create the perfect outdoor entertaining space. From robotic lawnmowers to inflatable projector screens, seating ideas to the ultimate outdoor lighting, it's all there in our handy guide to sprucing up your garden this summer.

Hot off the press, we've also got some handy insights into the home décor trends tipped to hit the big time this autumn/winter, plus a list of the top 100 interior designers to help make your vision a reality. We finish back outside with a few practical suggestions on how to add some extra privacy to your outdoor space, as well as a fun look into what UK homeowners get up to in their gardens – we're talking speakers, sinks and fire pits, all of which are, according to Houzz, top of everyone's wish list this summer.

We've deliberately held back on mentioning the football until the very end...if you're following the World Cup (even if it's just for the party), then you'll no doubt join us in wishing England plenty of luck in their game against Panama this Sunday. As the eyes of the world turn towards Russia, it promises to be an action-packed couple of weeks...enjoy the ride.

Pritchards – Bath Property Newsletter May 2018

18/05/2018
Welcome to our May email newsletter, another packed edition celebrating everything that is great about living and working in Bath!

We begin this month with a round-up of our top things to do in and around the city over the May half-term holidays. Read the first of our two-part blog piece below and make sure you like us on our popular Facebook page to catch the second part next week. Did you know we also post new instructions and price reductions on Facebook? To like us on social media, scroll down to the links at the bottom of this email.

Planning a barbecue over the bank holiday weekend? Then check out Ideal Home's guide to some of the best  currently on the market. Our favourite has got to be the Big Green Egg, apparently the barbecue of choice for several celebrity chefs (it would look pretty good sitting on the average patio, wouldn't it?).

A decent barbecue is all well and good, but if you're serious about al fresco entertaining, then you'll need to think bigger than a supermarket sausage and a bargain pack of hamburgers. Sharpen up your act in time for summer by booking onto one of Lucknam Park's fabulous cookery courses, covering everything from fish and shellfish to how to serve up the perfect steak. Garden looking a little shabby? We've got just the thing for that too, with some quick and easy fixes for instant wow factor - just click on the link below.

Last but by no means least, the Royal Wedding count-down has begun in earnest, with last-minute preparations for the big day no doubt being tweaked and polished as you read this. If you're planning your own party on Saturday, then we've got the ideal snacks and drinks guaranteed to deliver the best Royal bash in the neighbourhood. Is your street marking the occasion with its own party? Enjoy the celebrations!

Just don't leave it too long, those tickets are selling out fast!

With May comes no less than two bank holiday weekends. If you're planning to spend a long weekend at home, then it's a good idea to have a couple of favourite pubs with gardens or sunny courtyards tucked up your metaphorical sleeve. And so the Easter weekend is nearly upon us, and not a moment too soon, we hear you chorus. After the initial excitement of all that snow, we're keen to wave a collective goodbye to the Beast from the East and it's pesky side-kick, the Pest from the West, and instead welcome some much needed rays of spring sunshine to our family get-togethers over the next couple of days.

Luckily, the recent snow and ice has done nothing to dampen the spirit of the Bath property market. It's traditionally a busy time of year here in the office and we've got a particularly impressive crop of houses and apartments to showcase to you this month - find out more below. Thinking of selling your home now spring is in the air? Get in touch with a member of our helpful team - even if it's just an initial chat, we would love to hear from you.

Elsewhere this month, we give you our top 5 tips on getting your house ready for sale, including our very own home dressing service: perfect for anyone who thinks their interior could do with an appraising eye or a little TLC, prior to it going on the market. Find out more in this month's blog below.

We also tap into a few last-minute ideas from Visit Bath on how to keep the whole family entertained over the Easter break. Did you know Bath was recently voted one of the Most In-Demand UK Cities of 2018 by TripAdvisor's Holiday Lettings? More on that below...

Then there's some high-tech home gadget wizardry, courtesy of the world's biggest tech show (care to cuddle a sleep robot, anyone?) plus some seriously wow wallpapers for kids' bedrooms in recognition of National Decorating Month.

Whether you're heading abroad in search of hotter climes, or staying close to home surrounded by chocolate mini eggs and sporting the obligatory homemade Easter bonnet, we hope you enjoy this month's newsletter. A very happy Easter from us all here at Pritchards!

It’s the spookiest time of the year…Halloween is just around the corner and there is no shortage of fantastic fireworks, hair-raising horror shows and spine-chilling workshops happening in and around Bath over the next few weeks. This year, we’ve teamed up with our friends at Freshford Primary School as one of the co-sponsors of their family-friendly fireworks display. Full details are below, alongside a handy guide to some of the other displays happening in and around the city this month.

Trick or treating not for you? If you prefer to curl up on the sofa in front of the television at home, then the Telegraph’s inside track on The Apprentice makes for a good read. This year's designer mansion is in London's affluent Nottinghill and is reputedly worth a cool £13 million. Take a look inside the candidates' house below and catch the latest episode on BBC1 tonight at 9pm. We also have our own quality selection of properties currently on the market, everything from an elegant period town house in Widcombe to an idyllic country retreat tucked away in beautiful Batheaston. Find out more below.

Speaking of luxe, the latest newcomer to Bath’s ever-expanding restaurant scene opened its doors last week. The Ivy Bath Brasserie occupies the old Nat West Bank on Milsom Street and the extensive refurb has turned an already beautiful grade-II-listed building into something very special. Team Pritchards is eagerly anticipating its first visit but in the meantime, the team has been devouring some of the first reviews posted online. Have you paid a visit yet? Let us know what you thought...

As well as all this, we've got some inspirational ideas on autumn colour in the garden, our very own guide to the five best places for a pub quiz in Bath, plus some top tips on selling your house before Christmas (yes, there's still time). So whether you’re carving creepy pumpkins, gorging on bat-shaped fizzy sweets or turning bedsheets into ghoulish ghosts, make sure you take a moment to enjoy this month's spooktastic newsletter. Happy Halloween...

Pritchards – Bath Property Newsletter September 2017

21/09/2017
Welcome to the September edition of our Bath Property Newsletter. After the glorious late summer sunshine of August bank holiday weekend, autumn has finally arrived here in Bath. In an effort to get our homes shipshape and winter-ready for the colder months ahead, we've turned our attention indoors this month, starting with Houzz's top 12 jobs to tackle in September. A great read, it contains plenty of clever ideas to help you blitz your home and get it looking and feeling cosy for autumn.

September also heralds the return of the Great Bath Feast, a 15-day annual celebration of all things foodie-related in the city. With a mouth-watering array of local events and demonstrations on offer, there is something to tickle everyone’s taste buds. The Good Pub Guide Awards 2018 were also announced earlier this month and our very own city-centre favourite, The Old Green Tree, made it into the top 10 town pubs of the year. See if your local made the final cut below.

In other news, Team Pritchards is well and truly hooked on the new series of the Great British Bake Off and whilst we love the sugary-sweet bakes created every week, it is the inspirational kitchen décor that we secretly crave. If, like us, you covet the show’s whimsical country-kitchen style, then the GBBO feature below will definitely hit the right spot.

Add to the mix our regular round-up of some of the very best properties for sale this September, as well as highlights from our popular weekly blog, and it is a veritable smorgasbord of delights on offer this month. Enjoy…

Pritchards – Bath Property Newsletter July 2017

06/07/2017
Welcome to the July edition of our Bath Property Newsletter!

Now Summer has officially landed, we decided to celebrate by launching a fantastic 'Picnic' themed competition, joining up with our 'foodie-expert' friends over at Taste of Bath. Scroll down to find out more and simply post your entry by following the link to our Facebook page.

Following the picnic theme, and assuming we will actually have some good long spells of sunshine this summer, we thought it would be a helpful idea to share our Top 10 Bath picnic hotspots PLUS Houzz's Top 10 picnic ingredients. Everything you need for a perfect British Picnic!

Focusing on the property market, despite the 'wait and see' sentiment that seemed to surround the recent general election – see Property Market Review below – we are still seeing healthy levels of activity and, as usual we have included some fine examples for you to browse over in our featured properties selection.

We do hope you enjoy the newsletter and hope you have a wonderful Summer.
